January 24, 2016 Space Whistle By Matthew Graybeal ¶ Posted in Poetry ¶ Leave a comment i love you you are perfect beautiful space child you found us what a crazy place this portland home the sun starshine gorgeous oregon green juniper smiles bluegrass & reggae gentle hip hop organic gardens everywhere food so fresh you taste the dirt & dirty is good dirty is everything dearest child this is how it is your path is yours i’ll be the best damn guide i’ll try but sometimes child i’ll stumble you’ll fly brilliant alone this lady earth she does care she really does care trust her protect you are beautiful perfect whatever you might become undone or holy or an astronaut in Space you’ll fly beautiful child love is your solar powered jet pack & it’s filled tight to the brim i charged it myself i have a really fancy headlamp sweet nectar of the gentle sun kindness find your sparkle find your shine all the time find your rhyme life is gay life is straight left & right black & white my beautiful child find your own path i don’t care which direction i will love you i will love you i will always be waiting whenever you need me play your purple space whistle proudly & i will guide you home dearest child i love you you are perfect always.
